Attitude of Doctors and Nurses towards Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting at a University Teaching Hospital

Introduction: Spontaneous reporting of adverse drug reaction (ADR) is the main stay pharmacovigilance. However major limitation this method underreporting as it depends entirely on participation health care professional. This study aimed to identify factors that discourage ADR and possible ways improve reporting. Methods: a questionnaire based cross-sectional descriptive employed at tertiary level teaching hospital from December 2020 March 2021 after approval institutional review committee. All doctors nurses were included in data collected using structured questionnaire. Results: Total numbers participants 283. Among them, 260(91.9 %) had encountered patient/s with 119(45.6%) documented ADR. However, there was no pharmacovigilance centre/ unit hospital.Out 283 participants, 123 (43.5%) agreed discouraging factor report unavailability form. Similarly decision depended new an existing product 217(76.7%) followed by seriousness 213 (75.2%).
